MessageBird WhatsApp Setup
Connect your MessageBird account to send automated text messages and subscription alerts over WhatsApp Business API.
You need an active MessageBird account with a configured WhatsApp channel. Log in to MessageBird.

Generate API Key
Log in to the MessageBird Dashboard and locate developers API settings:
- Navigate to Developer → API access or Settings in the sidebar.
- Generate a new access key (select "Live" API key for production). Copy it securely.

Get Channel ID
Navigate to Channels on MessageBird and locate your registered WhatsApp channel. Copy the unique Channel ID associated with your sender profile.

Configure Settings in VillageConnect
Open your Admin Panel → Settings → Manage Notifications → Gateway Settings:
- Click the WhatsApp tab and enable WhatsApp.
- Set WhatsApp Provider to MessageBird.
- Paste your MessageBird API Key.
- Paste the Channel ID.
You are all set!
VillageConnect will now forward messages using MessageBird.
