Generate Your API Keys

Log in to your EvPay dashboard and go to Settings → API Keys. Generate a key pair — EvPay never emails credentials, you create them yourself:

• Client ID — identifies your merchant account
• Client Secret — authenticates and signs every request; shown only once, so copy it immediately

Keep the Client Secret private — anyone holding it can initiate charges on your account and forge payment confirmations.

Configure Settings in VillageHub

Go to your Admin Panel → Settings → Payments. Select EvPay (Tanzania) as the payment gateway and paste your Client ID and Client Secret. If EvPay also showed you a Signing Key, paste that too; otherwise leave it blank.

Use the keys from your live dashboard (merchant.evpay.co.tz). Keys from sandbox.evpay.co.tz only work with Sandbox mode switched on, and no real money moves there. Running multiple sites? You can also point an individual router at EvPay (or its own credentials) from the router's payment override on the router detail page.

Payment Confirmations Are Automatic

There is no webhook to configure in the EvPay dashboard — VillageHub sends its callback URL with every payment request, and EvPay posts a signed confirmation there the moment your customer approves or declines the prompt. Every confirmation's signature is checked and the payment is re-verified against the EvPay API before internet access is granted. For reference, the callback endpoint is:

Good to know: VillageHub detects the customer's network from their phone number (M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money or HaloPesa). EvPay collects in TZS only, minimum TZS 100 per payment. The USSD approval prompt works on both feature phones and smartphones.
