Hubtel SMS Setup
Connect your Hubtel SMS gateway account to send automated SMS notifications, purchase receipts, and subscription expiry alerts to Ghana subscribers.
You need an active Hubtel developer account. Create a Hubtel account if you do not have one.

Obtain API Client Credentials
Retrieve your API Client credentials from your Hubtel console dashboard:
API KeysNavigate to Developer Portal → API Accounts, generate an account, and copy both the Client ID and Client Secret.

Register Sender ID
Go to your Hubtel Console SMS settings and register your alphanumeric Sender ID (max 11 characters, subject to verification). Hubtel will only route messages if the sender parameter matches an approved ID.

Configure Gateway in VillageConnect
Open your Admin Panel → Settings → Manage Notifications → Gateway Settings:
- Set SMS Provider to Hubtel (Ghana).
- Provide your Client ID and Client Secret.
- Enter your approved Sender ID.
- Optional: Customize the Base URL if you are using a custom Hubtel endpoint routing configuration.
You are all set!
VillageConnect will now format recipients' phone numbers automatically into E.164 formats starting with Ghana's country code +233 and dispatch SMS alerts securely.
