What Mikhmon is
Mikhmon (MikroTik Hotspot Monitor) is a PHP web app by Laksamadi Guko (laksa19) that connects to a MikroTik router through the RouterOS API. It generates hotspot users and vouchers, manages user profiles and expiry, prints vouchers (including to Bluetooth printers from Android), shows live hotspot users and traffic, and keeps sales reports.
Mikhmon V3 is published on GitHub under the GPL-2.0 licence. The latest changelog entry in that repository is V3.20 from June 2021. The author also lists a V4 beta and a hosted service, Mikhmon Online (mikhmon.link), priced in Indonesian rupiah.
What VillageHub is
VillageHub is cloud ISP billing for African operators running MikroTik or TP-Link Omada. Customers pick a package on a branded captive portal, pay by mobile money, and are connected automatically. It also bills PPPoE clients, handles agents and resellers, and sends SMS and WhatsApp alerts.
The real difference: vouchers vs automatic payments
Mikhmon is a management tool for the router you already have. You or your agents print vouchers, sell them for cash, and Mikhmon records the sale. That is simple and costs nothing.
VillageHub is a billing platform. A customer pays with M-Pesa or another wallet on the login page and the internet switches on without anyone selling a voucher. Money goes into your own merchant account. You can still print vouchers when you need them.
